Sineskwela
Sine’skwela, the first Educational Television show of the ABS-CBN Foundation aired in June 1994. The show explains scientific concepts by using situations that are familiar and easy to relate to, in an effort to make the lessons more interesting and comprehensible for students. The show also use attractive illustrations , catchy songs and characters like Anatom (Brenan Espartinez) Agatom ( Christine Bersola) and “Buknoy the flying Jeepney” to make the program more appealing to the young audiences.
A research conducted by Dr. Milagros Ibe, former University of the Philippines Institute for Science and Math Education Director revealed that students the were regularly exposed to Sine’skwela showed an increase in comprehension and retention of lessons discussed in class by 25%.

Math-Tinik
Being afraid of Math is common to many students. Math Tinik attempts to change this by trying to make the subject appealing to students. Like Sine’skwela, Math Tinik uses likeable characters and familiar scenes as well as objects found in daily to explain concepts and solve mathematical problems. With this approach, students become less intimidated and develop confidence in handling math equations.

The title actually stands for Sining sa Lipunan. The show gives viewers a peek of historical landmarks in the Philippines and the role they have played in our nation’s colorful past.
